Lesson 18
Heart Disease
According to the American Heart Association,
seven million women succumb to heart disease
each year, for approximately one death per
minute, ranking it as the No. 1 health-related
killer of the entire world. In fact, heart disease
is responsible for claiming more lives than the
next seven causes of death combined and is
six times more prevalent among women than
breast cancer. Yet, many people are unaware of the signs and symptoms of
heart disease and fail to take the necessary steps to learn what they can do
to reduce the risk factors.
