Thinking Like a Scientist:
Why Don’t Some Popcorn Kernels Pop?

              Design and Conduct an Experiment

                                                                 v.
to create or develop something carefully
                                                                 formulate
Once scientists formulate a hypothesis, they can

plan an experiment to test it. To test your

hypothesis, you can pop the overdried popcorn

and the regular popcorn and observe the results.

You need to pop several batches of both types of

popcorn. A scientist repeats a test to make sure

that the results are always the same.
