ixth-grader Julian Calendar has faced a lot of teasing because of his love for science
and invention. So when Julian’s family moves to a new city, he’s excited to start
S S over at a middle school where the other students don’t know him as a nerd.
Determined to fit in, Julian decides to keep his true interests a secret. But it’s not long
before a mysterious coded message leads Julian to a local diner, where he is soon outed
as a science nerd. Worse yet, the classmates who discover Julian’s secret are none other
than basketball captain Ben Garza and his pal Greta Hughes—the scariest girl in school.
