In Bud, Not Buddy, you read about a boy living in Flint, Michigan, during the Great
Depression. In the story, Bud arrives too late for a free breakfast. A family that is waiting
in line takes pity on him and pretends to be his family so he can stay and eat.
Imagine that you are Bud and you want to thank this family for their kindness. Write a
thank-you note to the family members that expresses your feelings about what they
did for you. Use details from the text to write your note.
