                                     REALISTIC FICTION

So the story of e Wanderer is that the main character, Sophie, was in a boating
                    1

accident with her parents as a young kid. ey died; she survived and was eventually
(at age 10) adopted. Now she’s going on a trip across the Atlantic with her three

(adoptive) uncles and two cousins. e cousins know she’s adopted, but Sophie
is weirdly in denial about it and talks about her adoptive parents and grandfather

Bompie as though she’s known them her whole life. is puzzles her cousins.
What really happened is sort of a mystery that unfolds over the course of the novel.
