As you watch The Traveling Trio: Český Krumlov, Czech Republic, notice that
the children you see in the video are also its narrators. Why do you think
the video has narrators who are about your age? Pay attention to the
information each narrator gives. Think about how it connects to what you
see in the video. Do the narrators explain ideas clearly? Why or why not?
Listen for the Critical Vocabulary words Baroque, pulleys, backdrop, and
performance for clues to the meaning of each word. Take notes in the
space below about how the words were used.
Baroque The Baroque Period was many years ago. The buildings of that time were very fancy and decorated.
pulleys Pulleys are wheels wrapped with rope that people can use to lift heavy objects.
backdrop On a stage, a backdrop is a painted curtain or wall that shows the setting of the scene.
performance If you sing, dance, or speak in front of a group, you give a performance.
