Evidence Write a Character Study
PROMPT
In Two Bear Cubs, many animals try to help Mother Grizzly save her cubs
but fail. The smallest and most unlikely of creatures, Measuring Worm,
finds a way to rescue Older Brother and Younger Brother in the end.
Why do you think Measuring Worm succeeded when all the other animals
failed? Write a character study of Measuring Worm that answers this
question and tells what you know about him from the play. You might talk
about the way he moves, the way he sounds, his strengths and
weaknesses, and the way he handles problems. Be sure to compare and
contrast Measuring Worm with the other animals. Don’t forget to use
some of the Critical Vocabulary words in your writing.
PLAN
Make a list of details you learned about Measuring Worm from the
play. Pay special attention to what the play reveals about his
personality and the way he thinks.
