The Mighty Mars Rovers describes what happened when the rover vehicles Spirit and
Opportunity landed on and explored the surface of Mars.
Imagine that you train new rover drivers at NASA’s Jet Propulsion Laboratory. You need
to be sure the new drivers understand how to control the rovers and don’t make
mistakes that could cause damage. Use evidence from the text to prepare a safety
checklist that new drivers can use to avoid damaging the rovers. Use precise, clear
language. Don’t forget to use some of the Critical Vocabulary words in your writing.
