Stonehenge
Since the people did not use lintels
any large animals, humans did
all the work. Popular theories sarsen
about Stonehenge suggest that the sarsens were moved
on sledges and rollers. Then, workers dug large holes in
the ground. They pushed one end of a sarsen into a hole
adj. having a smooth or even surface
flat
and pulled the top end upright with ropes. Next, a flat top
stone was put on top of every two sarsens. When all the
top stones were joined, they formed a perfect circle.
