Dangers of phosphoric acid in soft drinks

One of the lifestyles of people in Indonesia that is instant can be
seen from the high level of consumption of soft drinks. Many people
prefer soda rather than drinking water. It is undeniable when the hot
air will feel refreshing when drinking soft drinks. Keep in mind that the
ingredients contained in soda can damage your body. Phosphoric

acid is the basic element of soft drinks. Its main function is to provide
a strong flavor and prevent the proliferation of fungi and bacteria in
               soft drinks.

When used in limited amounts, phosphoric acid is not harmful to

the body, but when used in high doses, phosphoric acid can affect
the body's ability to absorb calcium. Calcium deficiency can cause
bones to become weak and can even make teeth more fragile and

easily cavities. A study conducted in 2006 found that soft drinks
(cola) are known to be associated with low levels of minerals in the
bones of elderly women due to the caffeine and phosphoric acid
content in them. In addition, high levels of phosphoric acid in soft
drinks can also affect stomach function, which can cause indigestion

                and flatulence.
