More to Learn
Since connecting the Bradt line into my Ancestry.com
family tree, Ancestry’s DNA testing relationship linker
has identified at least 15 other known Bradt matches. As
yet, John’s possible siblings have not yet been found, nor
has the tree been traced back from William Ware, John’s
Father. Hannah’s origins also have yet to be proven. Of
John and Hannah’s children, there are still lost lines and
tantalizing clues yet to be explored.
The Need for More Testing: The More the Merrier
Although we inherit half our DNA from each parent, we
do not inherit 25% from each grandparent. After several
generations, it is entirely possible that any two descend-
ants from different branches of a tree may not share DNA
or may share very little DNA. DNA testing has proven Henry Orville Ellis, grandfather of
its value in helping to uncover John Ware’s origins. This Sandra, circa 1929
could not have happened without my mother ’s, aunt’s,
and Jeff Lewis’s tests. Other living descendants of John
and Hannah all have key pieces of this DNA story that
could uncover the rest of our history. If you are a de-
scendant, please consider DNA testing and
particularly loading to Gedmatch.com. If you are a Ware/
Parker descendant on Ancestry and interested in this
search, please consider inviting other Ware descendants
to your results, which allows them to see what you see.
These tools are among our best hopes for finding our
shared origins and writing the next chapter of our shared
history: Hannah Parker, Origins Uncovered.
Bea Ellis Olivieri, mother of Sandra,
1940
Sandra has held fascination
with genealogy since she was
a small child. In 2018 and
2019, she traveled to Italy for a
deep-dive search on her paternal
side (with incredible results).
She plans an extended visit to
Kentucky in 2020 or 2021 to re-
search non-electronic records of
her Ellis roots. Her other inter-
ests include yoga and enjoying
time with her two Maine Coon
cats, Roxie and Remmy. Profes-
sionally, Sandra is an actuary.
She grew up in the Central Valley and enjoyed much childhood
time with her grandmother in Plumas County, and well as other
James H. Ellis and Nancy Herness Ellis, family and friends in and around Paradise. She currently lives
great-grandparents of Sandra, circa 1877. in Orange County.
