At the start of the year, Mars is the most prominent planet in our sky. It is visible after the Sun sets until the early hours. The red planet stays visible in the evening until the middle of August when it disappears from view until it reappears in December's dawn sky.
Venus begins the year visible at dawn, becoming more difficult to see through February when it disappears from the morning sky and reappears at sunset in May. It then remains visible in the evening until the end of the year.
