Student Takes Second Place in Screen Printing at Skills USA

Congratulations to Graphic Communications student Carrie Hayes who placed second
in the Skills USA Screen Printing competition. Carrie is a Broome High School junior
and DMTC concentrator in Graphic Communications. The competition was held at
Midlands Technical College on March 18, 2022. We are very proud of Carrie and her
instructor, Mrs. Pennington, on this accomplishment!

Machine Tool Students Visit SCC Cherokee County Campus

On March 25, 2022, Machine Tool Technol-
ogy students visited the SCC Cherokee
County campus to tour their Machine Tool
classroom and hear about the program.
The students learned that this campus
offers all night courses, which would allow
students the opportunity to work during
the day and that they can earn either a cer-
tificate or an AAS (Associate of Applied Sci-
ence) degree in Machine Tool Technology
in two years or less with a 95% placement rate. SCC again received grant funding for
next year, which will allow students the opportunity to receive free tuition.
