Design and content are the visible face of strategy. They determine not just how an estate looks online, but how it feels, the sensory language through which personality and values are conveyed. For Bittescombe, design must bridge its rich past and dynamic present, ensuring that tradition is not merely preserved but reinterpreted for the modern audience.
The creative direction should embrace three central principles:
1. Elegance Through Restraint: A minimalist layout, strong photography, and measured copy that lets
the estate’s quality speak for itself.
2. Authenticity of Detail: Every visual and written element should reflect real textures, moments, and people, from morning light over the valley to the craftsmanship of a gun slip or decanter.
3. Editorial Storytelling: Content should feel like a high-end magazine feature, thoughtful, polished, and evocative rather than commercial.
Photography will be the heart of this communication. It should tell a visual story that moves through the seasons and the estate’s many moods, mist rising from coverts, a spaniel’s wet coat after a retrieve, or the quiet dignity of a dining room at dusk. These moments, presented with depth and tone, create emotional truth.
Copywriting will follow suit: articulate, warm, and informed. The tone should convey knowledge without pretension, confidence without arrogance. Each paragraph should feel crafted and deliberate, mirroring the estate’s meticulous attention to detail.
Typography and colour will evoke heritage subtly, perhaps using a refined serif font paired with understated neutrals, deep greens, and muted golds. The overall design language should reflect Bittescombe’s self- assurance: refined, timeless, and quietly luxurious.
Ultimately, the design and content direction are about evoking trust. A guest should arrive on the site and instinctively feel they are in capable hands. Everything from the first image to the final line of copy must work in harmony to express the truth of Bittescombe: a place of natural beauty, sporting tradition, and enduring hospitality.
