help2read is a UK registered charity delivering
literacy programmes in schools in South Africa with
disadvantaged children. We operate in schools in
the townships where we provide one to one reading
sessions with children nominated by their teachers as
needing extra tuition. We run our hugely successful
Holiday Reading Clubs in the last week of each term
– any child who wishes to can participate in these fun
clubs. They have one to one reading sessions, spelling bees, poetry competitions and all
materials are provided as is a packed lunch. We are simply all about reading!
