Reconnect with Sons of Serendip
“Serendipity brought
them together…”
Sons of Serendip is a musical group of four friends, who through
a series of serendipitous events, came together in graduate
school at Boston University.
Micah Christian, a former teacher from Randolph, Massachusetts, is the lead vocalist of the group; Cordaro Rodriguez, a
former attorney from Charlotte, NC, is the pianist and guitarist; Kendall Ramseur, a former cello instructor from Charlotte,
NC, is the cellist and vocalist; and Mason Morton, who is a former teacher from Atlanta, GA, is the harpist for the quartet.
They have each been playing their instruments since childhood, but in 2014, they came together on a whim auditioning for
the popular television show, America’s Got Talent. From that experience, the group embarked on a journey to create music
that touches people’s hearts.
Sons of Serendip were in the middle of a tour in Texas last spring when COVID forced
them to cancel their remaining shows.
Since that time they have been recording, figuring out the logistics of remote concerts,
and performing virtually.
The group just released their fourth album, Mosaic, a compilation of unique covers and
new original songs such as Butterflies Fly Away.
“I wrote ‘Butterflies Fly Away’ several years ago as a reflection on
my experience of finding someone to love... I concluded that it’s
like trying to catch a butterfly. If you make a move too soon, they
become afraid and fly away. If you wait too long, the wind blows

and they fly away. Finding the right person to spend your life
with is this same delicate balancing act.” – Cordaro
Sons of Serendip will premiere their live holiday concert to benefit the Phil on December 12th. See page 34 for details.
