P. 18

This being the case why do we not go bald at the end of every cycle?
Simple, the hair cycle applies to each hair, when you were a baby your
whole head of hair did not suddenly just appear. It came hair by hair,
some when you were in the womb and some after birth, so hairs are
                   replacing themselves day by day.

If you slide your fingers into your hair, and trap hair between your
fingers, then give one or two short tugs you will notice about six or seven
hairs come away from the scalp. These hairs are known as falling hair,
they are hairs that have separated beneath the scalp waiting to be pushed
out by the new hair, and usually comb out in the comb every day.

You will find at least a hundred hairs a day fall out, which can sometimes
cause alarm, this is just natural reproduction, unlike some drugs which
are known to have side effects that bring about early separation, slow
down the growth of new hair causing temporary bald spots.

                   Human Hair Type.

Black hair (African/Caribbean Decent), the Black hair is totally unique.
We know that the hair structure is created in exactly the same way that is
atoms forming a micro fibril, then many micro fibrils turning into a fibril,
then many fibrils turning into a cortical cell, and then many cortical cells
bound together by a protein cement (Matrix), finally all cortical cells are
bound together with seven layers of cuticle scales.

The actual shape of the micro fibrils, fibrils, cortical cells, cuticle scales
and medulla are flatter more sickle shape than in other hair types, this in
turn makes the Black hair itself flatter, more sickle shape than other hair

types. Also, the Black hair only has a natural colour range of one (off
                   black).

Oriental Hair cells are completely round the same as Caucasian/Asian
cells. However, the Oriental hair is much thicker than Caucasian/Asian
hair; this is mainly due to the fact that the Oriental hair has up to fourteen
layers of cuticle scales. As opposed to Caucasian/Asian hair which only
has seven layers. The Oriental hair only has a natural colour range of one
                   (off black).

Caucasian/Asian hair types are very similar in structure both cell types
are completely circular and both hair types have seven layers of cuticle
scales. Caucasian hair has a colour range of nine basic shades varying
from off black to lightest blonde, with seven different tones soft ash, ash,
