The existence of varying visible and invisible wavelengths was confirmed
by Newton, when he used a glass prism to absorb white light, he found
the prism reflected the white light as individual wavelengths. (Fig 5.)
Newton’s experiment with the prism explained Absorption and
Reflection as seen by the human eye. The prism is made of glass and is
completely transparent containing no pigments, so all wavelengths
absorbed. Separate into individual wavelengths when reflected because
of the triangular planes of the prism. The human eye witnesses this
experiment in the natural phenomenon the rainbow.
