Testing strip mixtures:
Mix one inch of hair dye with a teaspoon of hydrogen peroxide and
apply to the (complete testing strip).
Apply the chosen formula directly to the testing strip in one application,
the reason being the testing strips are Keratinised hair only, the roots
have been removed in the manufacture to create the header strip.
However, all of that said Level 1 has nothing to do with any of the
above.
Understanding, The hair contains 2 sets of natural pigments which
determine hair colour in white light (Daylight). The Eumelanin
pigments; Purple though to Green (Cool pigments) and Pheomelanin
pigments Red through to yellow (Hot pigments).
Eumelanin pigments remove almost immediately within the first 5
minutes leaving the hair looking dark Red. Pheomelanin pigments can
take hours to remove before finally leaving the hair to reflect white.
Colours in the 2 to 6 range require a lot of Eumelanin to remain in the
hair to achieve these darker colours, 6% adds artificial pigments to
achieve colours with the same base shade or darker.
6% hydrogen peroxide may also be used to remove some Eumelanin
pigments when applying a permanent hair dye one shade lighter than the
natural base shade.
9% hydrogen peroxide may also be used to remove some Eumelanin
pigments when applying a permanent hair dye two shades lighter than
the natural base shade.
For any shades lighter than two shades lift you will need to pre bleach to
the required level the apply the target colour.

What are Levels ?
A single level entails completing all formulas in your preferred hair colour
basic range (approx. 75 colours) on a single natural base shade. Level 2 is
natural base shade 2. Level 3 is natural base shade 3 and so on to Level 10 a
natural base 10. As the same 75 colours are carried out on each level watch the
formulas change.
A certificate is granted on the completion of every level. The Colour Master
certificate is only granted after completing all 10 levels.
For levels 2 to 10 just follow the formulas. Just retrieve the formula, mix, wait,
shampoo off and the perfect colour is achieved. This is true of the single
application formulas and these can be carried out three at a time, just note the
hydrogen peroxide strengths and how they change for the same colours on
different base shades.
Formulas that entail two or three different formula applications to achieve the
desired target colour it is recommended you do one target colour at a time.
