Wall-to-wall carpet was installed in the educational
wing of the church in 1976.
New doors at the entrance of the church building and
the educational unit were purchased in 1976.
All Snow Hill churches participated in the World Day of
Prayer service held at our Church in March, 1976.
In the spring of 1976, Christian Women’s Fellowship No.
2 was organized for the younger women.
In order to conserve fuel during the winter of 1977,
the Episcopal, Presbyterian and Christian Churches held
union worship services for three Sundays.
A Church Prayer Chain was formed in 1977.
Worthwhile projects that have been carried out by
organizations in the Church for a number of years are (1)
visiting and distributing gifts to shut-ins and (2) reading
the Bible to illiterates.
Elders who have served during the past ten years are
Preston W. Bounds, Sr., Timothy W. Bowen, Fred E. Cherrix,
Albert J. Cook, Lorenzo D. Mason, and M. Edwin Shockley.
Hilda R. Shockley, Debbie Paperella and Elsie M. Dryden
have served as secretary of the Church Board during the
ten-year period.
Mary F. Age, Gerald T. Mason, and Willie P. Leake have
been superintendent of the Sunday School during the last
ten years
The present trustees are Clayton S. Adkins, Randall J.
Mariner, and Roger Lee Richardson.
Mary B. Pilchard has been Church treasurer the entire
ten-year period.
Gloria R. Nock has been Church organist since she was
thirteen years of age.
