Elizabeth Short, born 13 October 1877, Kenton
Hundred, Kent, Delaware, (daughter of Kinsey/
Kenzey J. Short and Elizabeth Ford), died 2
January 1978. George died 4 March 1947, 239 S.
Washington Street, Snow Hill, Worcester,
Maryland. Although they had no children, they
raised Sarah’s niece, Edna W. Gray who later
married 847- Norris Henry Pusey. Edna was
raised by George and Sarah “Aunt Sally” from
age 11 when she was sent by train from
Wilmington, Delaware by her mother, whose
second husband, who wanted neither Edna, nor
her older sister, Mae.
