Obituary for Eugenia Rose (Hickman) Perdue:

Eugenia Hickman Perdue departed this life on

Saturday, January 30, 2021 at her Snow Hill, MD

home. Born on April 24, 1927, she was the daughter

of the late Elwood Hickman and Doris Pusey

Hickman.

Following graduation from Atlantic High School in

Oak Hall, VA, she married the love of her life, Gilbert

F. Perdue, Sr. in June 1945. She worked on the

family farm and as a USDA egg inspector for about 20

years at Shockley’s Egg in Whiton, MD and then for

the Maryland State Forest Service, as an observer in

the nearby Nassawango Fire Tower. She dedicated

her life to raising her boys and served as a Cub Scout

Den leader. She joined her husband in his ministry
