TIMBER HITCH
This is a temporary hitch or noose formed around such objects as
tree trunks, poles and planks so that they can be dragged or towed.
It can also be used to raise or lower as long as the hitch is tied at
the centre of gravity. The addition of a half hitch, which technically
changes it to a Killick Hitch, allows for much more directional
stability when dragging or towing.
1 Pass the line around the object you want to secure. Then take the line
end back around the main line and across itself.
