4.) Female dog, Zofi, mixed breed, 6 months old Date of case taking: 13/12/2018
Problem: Zofi came to the clinic with an eye inflammation. Right eye had severe purulent discharge and the eyelids were a little bit swollen. The left eye had less discharge and it was more watery. Zofi had this kind of condition for the forth time in last three months. Sometimes the left eye was the worst, the next time the right eye. She was rubbing her eyes a lot with the paws, even when they looked healthy. Until now they have always been treated with local antibiotic drops and ointment and in few days everything was ok, until the next time. But vets said that she would have to be operated for entropion. Zofi was really unhappy on the examination table, very nervous. When the owner picked her up and squatted down to weight her, Zofi panicked and tried to climb up onto the owner’s head. Discharges looked corrosive, because there was thinning of the hair around the eyes and on the line, where pus ran down and the inflammation just started in the last day.
On the inspection of the eyes I saw that she really had a little bit of entropion. I offered them to try with a homeopathic remedy before surgery. They agreed.
Remedy: I decided to give her Borax C30, 2 times a day for one week. Borax because of her being very afraid of heights and downward motion, freaked her out. Also discharges were corrosive.
Follow up: This happened one year ago now and she never had eye inflammation since then. She didn’t need surgery either.
5.) Male cat, No name, 2 years old, not castrated Date of case taking: 21/06/2019
Problem: Tomcat came to the clinic with terrible eye and upper respiratory tract inflammation. His eyes were glued together and all three eyelids on both eyes were severely
swollen. His body temperature was 40,6 deg C. He had been hiding and not eating for a few days. Eye and nose discharges were watery and profuse. He sneezed a lot. We cleaned the nose and eyes.
Remedy: I decided to give him Allium cepa C30, 3 times a day, because of its affinity to the eyes, upper respiratory tract and profuse, watery discharges, and Euphrasia tincture in colloidal silver solution as eye drops, also 3 times daily. We asked the owner to bring the cat back the next day.
Follow up: Next day the cat felt much better. He started eating, temperature dropped to 39.0 deg . The eyes were a lot less swollen and they were open. There was very little discharge from the eyes or nose. No more sneezing.
I ordered to continue with the same therapy and have a check-up in one week. They never came back.
6.) Female dog, Kitty, Labrador mix, 4 years old Date of case taking: 03/09/2018
Problem: Kitty came to the clinic because in the last few months she had had a little abscess between her 2nd and 3rd toe on the front left paw coming back again and again. When the abscess was formed, the paw was a tiny bit painful on pressure and she wasn’t as active as usually. She also limped a little, especially when walking in the woods or gravel. Previously she was treated with antibiotics and local ointment that should speed up suppuration. She didn’t have any other problems. Treatment helped, but after few weeks the abscess was back again. I recommended homeopathic treatment and they were happy to do anything.
Remedy: I prescribed for Kitty Silicea C30, once a day for one week, because I was sure there has to be some microscopic foreign body between the toes that would not stop causing troubles unless we got it out.
Follow up: I talked to Kitty’s owner 10 days later and he said that abscess suppurated a few days ago. He didn’t see anything unusual in the discharge, but the paw was back to normal, no more limping or pain. They came back to the clinic after 6 months for Kitty’s regular Rabies shot and they told me that the abscess never came back after that time, that is 6 months ago.
7.) Female kitten, Muci, 4 months old Date of case taking: 01/10/2019
Problem: Very stressed woman brought a little kitten to the clinic. She said that she got out of the car at home, when this little thing came over to her, jumping on three legs, and started to walk around her meowing. She felt sorry for the kitten, so she took her to the clinic to see what was wrong with her, and what can be done. We took an x-ray of right front leg and saw fracture of humerus. Woman started to cry and explain she had no money to help this kitten, but
