  Homeopathy One
 continued
What happens when the best homeopaths in the world are in the room with the same patient at the same time?
The culmination of the conference was the live case taking on the third and final day. What happens when the best homeopaths in the world are in the room with the same patient at the same time? Will they be able to agree on a prescription?
The patient was a woman suffering a breakdown after a dif- ficult divorce. The answer to the question is that 8 masters of homeopathy offered 8 different remedies to open the case. All of them, of course, equally convincing. The case- taking was very slow, taking around 3 hours of the morning. In the end this meant that when the discussion was really getting interesting, it was all over. In the future, it would be fantastic to apply a looser timeframe with even more time for discussion. A live case each morning followed by analy- sis and discussion all day would be getting to the core and heart of homeopathy and offer a unique experience of the masters at work without a script – I hope the organisers, after such a brilliant start, will be brave enough to loosen the reigns at future conferences.
The heart of Bruges was the absolute perfect setting for this conference. The welcome reception was at the town hall, where the major himself made us welcome and gave an introduction to the town and its history before serving up Belgian beer in this beautiful 14th century building.
Saturday night dinner was at the Provincial Palace, a place for royalty, Hollywood stars and, of course, homeopaths. It would surely not be possible to find surroundings similar to these anywhere else in the world.
Having never been to Bruges before, I was very happy to visit outside of the tourist season. Getting to know the cobbled streets and making our way everywhere easily on foot in this incredible historical town was like being in a fairy tale and added to the pervasive feeling of magic. It simply was all quite unreal and too good to be true in every sense. Did I mention that every other shop was a chocolatier?
The first HomeopathyOne conference did indeed turn out to represent a new united approach to homeopathy as we look forward to playing an increased role in health care for the future. The best part is that it is set to be repeated in 2019. I hope it will be in Bruges again and I do hope you will all come.
