Based on the flu like symptoms, the vesicular lesions, her tendency to withdraw, seek solitude and prefer cool places I considered Natrum muriaticum.
Iwas wondering about the aetiology of feline acne, the cause of which is largely unknown with hormone imbalances, keratinising disorders, overproduction of sebum from sebaceous glands, food or contact sensitivities all postulated as an underlying cause. One way or another this boils down to an immune disorder of some sort.
I chose to try a lanthanide having seen other successful case studies in cats with inflammatory disease using this group of remedies. Of the lanthanides I chose Gadolinium as she was described as talkative, inquisitive and relaxed when well (she had a confidence about her).
I gave Gadolinium muriaticum 200c – single split dose with instructions to repeat a single dose if there was good response followed by a relapse.
A phone call a month or so later revealed her to be back to normal and very well, having had no antibiotics at all during this time. Checking back at her clinical records, she was next seen 6 years later at the age of 12 year with strange behavioural changes and weight loss. She was euthanised with an unknown health condition.

CONCLUSIONS
The outcome in Patrick’s case was mixed. He did well, largely without steroids for one year. If this was a cancer case I should feel that this was a success, but if this was autoimmune disease what else could I have used to help?
I wonder if I could have repertorised his behaviour better – shown the strength of character he had, how likeable he was despite being uncooperative with tests – how charming and ‘big’ he was. I would like to be more intuitive in the way that I prescribe, to feel the energy of the case and
know the feeling of the remedies that would match. Did Patrick perhaps need Lac Leoninum, or Aurum?
I was very happy with the response in Mittens case, and the demonstration that homeopathy can replace the use of antibiotics when a good remedy match is found.
I would also love to be able to step into each of the readers consult rooms around the world and observe what they see or feel in each animal to help them prescribe. We have so much to learn from each other.
