Patrick was very difficult to get blood samples from other than his first blood test. It was like he knew what was going to happen and he decided he wasn’t going to cooperate. He was not aggressive in a way to cause harm, just very big and strong and
fighting against being restrained. Even when his PCV was below 10% he would struggle, and I did sedate him on one occasion to allow further testing (fine needle aspirate of the spleen + bloods which showed extra medullary haematopoesis). I came to estimating his PCV based on his behaviour with seeking indigestibles suggesting moderate anaemia
