The response is immediate. Her coat becomes soft and silky for the first time in her life. No more hair loss. She now does not mind running though the cut hayfields. No more hair loss (she has lost her hair nearly all the time since the beginning of the issues). She has become very relaxed and phlegmatic about life.
12 August: the feed-back I get again is much better than it has been over the years. No hair loss, no itching, happy relaxed dog, etc, etc. The feed-back is very short, but the change is so dramatic for the first time with no need for repeating the remedy, in the middle of the allergy season (=summer), that I think I can be quite confident that this time we are fine.
Comments
A case like this reflects the difficulty of using homeopathy. Also, I was assuming that the suppressive effect of the conventional treatment could explain why she seemed to need repeated prescriptions of the remedies as we went along. I suspect this is more so when the remedy is not perfect but in the case of a much more perfect remedy, this is less so.
We use the similitude principle. The most similar remedy will be most effective and deep acting. In these cases that have severe itching right from a young age, only a very good similimum will offer long lasting and deep acting relief. The most important message I want to pass on is to never give up and that even when patients take conventional medicines, however toxic they are, it is still possible to help and even cure.
I could possibly have done better and found the lac-lup earlier... but then we are all limited by a number of factors, especially by our own limitations of insight in the case, homeopathic technique and knowledge.
Thank you for placing your trust and confidence in me to assume the office of IAVH president. I am delighted to accept this position.
I would like to acknowledge the work of outgoing president Edward De Beukelaer and his team, especially for the tremendous initiatives in politics and science that they undertook. I look forward to the IAVH continuing its work in these fields as well as in education.
Personally, I see development of Education (working to provide a high professional quality standard – delivering courses, certification and examination) as one of the most important goals of the IAVH. I also believe that the introduction of easily accessible innovations such as the e-learning system would help to develop excellent continuing education training programs in veterinary homeopathy that would add value to IAVH members. The more well-educated members the IAVH have, the more they will be interested in engaging in political and scientific activities of IAVH.
It is my commitment and my hope to work closely and collaborate with all members respecting your ideas, through accepting diversity. I want to emphasise the important role of the subcommittees withing the IAVH. Subcommittees are making things happen for the association. I would like to delegate more responsibility and initiative to the subcommittees. They should help to develop or administer a particular area of the IAVH e.g. education, social media, science, politics etc., while the board and officers should provide good governance for the IAVH. At the same time, we must be aware that we are a small organisation and each of us has to take the initiative to make things happen.
We are each given the opportunity to be veterinary homeopathic ambassadors and so I invite anyone with ideas and reflections on how we can improve the IAVH work to share their thoughts with all of us in the new team.
