area at the base of the tail has become black and then the hair came off in a crust. The skin underneath is dark.
This started when her best friend, the old family dog, died. She used to sleep with the dog. She has not been out since: this has never happened before, she always used to go out,
even when it was cold, especially when the sun was out in the winter
She hates the cold and always lies by the stove in the winter, or by the other dog, or by the pump of the aquarium. She is always hungry. According to the owner, she was frustrated because weaned too early. She is always looking for affection, she is clingy.
In the consult room, she hid behind the bin, all stressed out. The owner says she is only relaxed when she is next to the stove. She has more energy in the morning or after eating in the evening.
She has never had any kittens: every time she lost them before they were born. But she always had milk and fed the kittens of other queens. She was then spayed and the milk disappeared.

Mina Philippe Osdoit, France
Mina is a dachshund, 5 years old. She came in season 3 months before the consultation and developed an impressive mammary hypertrophy. A treatment with bromocriptine 1 month before stopped the milk production but the glands are now oedematous, painful, hard and swollen. She does not eat and is scratching her basket. She whines all the time. Sometimes she will sud- denly go to her bed howling. There is sometimes a violent contraction on the left side of the neck/shoulder area. She always wants to put her head on something high up.
She tries to bite the vet during the examination and wants to hide in her owner’s arms, and goes to bite her owner when she tries to hold on to her. She has had several back and neck pain episodes in the last 12 months.
