Page 75 - HOPE FOR NEXT GENERATION
P. 75
ABOUT THE BOOK
There is bankruptcy of godly virtues in our society today even with the increasing number of churches
with many claiming to be Spirit filled, tongue speaking and professing Christ or faith in Christ. The world is
getting darker because we live in wired world unlike our forefathers generation, so children are easily
expose to evil. Also there is greater level of parental negligence in other to make ends meet and
philosophers of men on child training leading to high level of immorality in our society.
The only hope to the next generation remains a deliberate effort in raising godly children, building the
mind/heart of children with the scriptural principles when they are still forming (shepherding the heart of
your child). If care is not taken many parents will be abandon in old people’s home to die while their
children lives a luxurious life with their hard earns money. The society, government, marriage etc. we wish
for start from your home. It is true that foolishness abounds in the heart of a child but unfortunately we
nurture, pamper and allow it in the name of love so that they won’t cry, hence our society is full of
foolishness. The general saying that the children are the future generation but if they are not train then
there is no future. Godliness with contentment is a great gain (I Timothy 6:6 - 10). If Cornelius a centurion
in Act 10 godly act went up to God as a memorial and he was a religious Man then how much more
you as a child of God. Hope for the next generation in time like this or rather in this perverse generation is
going back to scriptural principles on how to train up a child. We must make every effort to add to our
faith goodness, knowledge, self-control, perseverance, godliness, brotherly kindness and love if we want
result (2 Peter 1: 5 - 8; Philippians 2: 14 - 18; James 2:14 - 26). It means faith is not enough in the
knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ.
