This exciting event is free to attend, but reservations are required as space is limited.
Reservation tickets available at www.unityhall.com via Humanitix. Children must
be accompanied by a parent or guardian.
During the program, children will not only discover the thrill of unearthing
a Triceratops bone, but they'll also contribute to the assembly of a life-sized
dinosaur cutout. Participants will get up-close with the actual skull of "Mr. Nixon,"
a Triceratops discovered by the Straka team in 1996 and explore rare fossils in a
hands-on “mini museum” featuring photos and minerals from the Strakas' digs in
South Dakota.
In addition to the dig, children will learn about the characteristics of Triceratops
and other dinosaurs while getting to handle fossils firsthand. This interactive
program is designed to inspire curiosity and teach skills needed for a successful
paleontological dig.
The dinosaur dig educational adventure is made possible by funds from the Stewarts
Kids Invited to Excavate Real Dinosaur Bones Holiday Match Program and is co-sponsored by the Barneveld Free Library. This
at Unity Hall’s Special FREE Paleontology Event event is also made possible with membership support by the Unity Hall Foundation,

Sunday, October 20 at 3PM a not-for-profit organization founded in 1995 to maintain the 1896 Hall as a center
for arts and community activities. Additional support was provided by funds from
Unity Hall, in collaboration with the Barneveld Free Library, invites children the Statewide Community Regrants Program through the New York State Council
in grades K-8 to a unique and educational dinosaur dig experience! This FREE on the Arts, with support from the Office of the Governor and the New York State
program will be led by paleontologists Mike and Roberta Straka on Sunday, Legislature and administered by CNY Arts.
