Stanley Theatre Series
Over the next several months, we would like to share
some of Malio Cardarelli’s descriptions of artists who
have appeared at the Stanley Theater.
Stanley Theatre Series
Over the next several months, we will present
a brief look at only a fraction of those hundreds,
perhaps thousands of artists who over the years
have appeared on the Stanley Theater stage
since its auspicious opening on September 10,
1928--ninety years ago. Hopefully, we have
selected an acceptable array of different musical
Malio Cardarelli talents who have so enriched this historic stage.

Not included are those countless artists who have appeared with the Broadway
Theater League, The Great Artists Series, the Utica Symphony Orchestra and other
organizational groups. Here, however, we deal mostly with those who came on
their own. Certainly, some readers will be disappointed that we did not include a
favorite performer they might have personally viewed here. To them our sincere
apologies with our hopes that they will understand how difficult the selection task
has been. Our first and foremost concern was to include local artists who appeared
on the Stanley stage and who have distinguished themselves beyond the confines
of our community. This then is our brief look, hopefully to your enjoyment and
edification, at just a bit of what the Stanley Theater stage has offered to Utica and
surrounding communities.
