FROM THE RAFINO PRESIDENT (Cont’d)
RAFINO has more than $100,000 in investments with Schwab. I have been told that our
investments can only be passed on to another non-profit 501(C)(19) organization under IRS rules.
FCA is a 501(C)(19) non-profit organization according to IRS filings. At least the RAFINO
investments will stay in the family if in the unlikely event that I need to shutter RAFINO at the end
of the year.
I intend to attend the Finance Corps Regimental Ball in April 2026. The registration for the Ball is
now open on the FCA website. As usual, the FCA President and staff has put together a wonderful
program focused on Finance Soldiers and their achievements and contributions over the past
year. I strongly encourage all RAFINO members to join the festivities at Fort Jackson. Meeting
today’s Finance soldiers is the best part of being there!
As the RAFINO Vice President for Information Services, Robby worked selflessly and tirelessly to
ensure both the RAFINO and FCA Websites enjoyed operational continuity. Both memberships rely
on their websites for social interaction with their comrades in arms. In the case of RAFINO, TAPS
provides the details around the passing of a Finance Corps member or Spouse that provides a
measure of closure for our members.
At the 2024 Business meeting during the Charleston reunion, I advised the assembled members
that the RAFINO Website required replacement due to age and the organization’s inability
to maintain it during the out years.
I signed a software contract in May 2025 with NMG Technologies, a world-wide corporation that
was established in 2008. My objective is for NMG to revamp the RAFINO legacy website to deliver a
modern, responsive, and role-based experience for retired Army finance personnel. I wanted the
new website to include enhanced features tailored for members, membership applicants, Principal
and Functional non-IT Administrators. After User Acceptance Testing, we will officially launch the
new RAFINO website as early as possible in 2026.
