Strength in Every Stripe: The Enlisted Force
                    Behind the Finance Corps Evolution
From the field to the finance office, from audit trails to the front lines of operations, the enlisted
Soldiers of the U.S. Army Finance Corps are leading with strength, skill, and service. Today, we
celebrate their unwavering impact and the remarkable momentum behind the recently released
36B Financial Management and Comptroller Enlisted Guide.
          A Declaration of Value
The Enlisted Guide is a milestone, not just a manual. For the first time, 36B Soldiers can see
themselves clearly across formations, from tactical squads to strategic commands. This guide
maps out roles, expectations, certifications, and pathways that showcase the depth and dimension
          of the enlisted finance profession.
As SGM Terry L. Anderson Jr., U.S. Army Finance & Comptroller Sergeant Major, affirms:
“Cultivating a competent and effective Finance Integrator starts with developing the basic skills
and attributes of a leader.” This guide equips Soldiers to do just that, whether they’re disbursing
funds on the battlefield or advising Commanders on multi-million-dollar decisions.
          Why This Guide Matters
Every profession has its roadmap. Now, 36Bs do, too. For those new to the Military Occupational
Specialty (MOS), this guide brings clarity to career expectations. For seasoned NCOs, it sharpens
vision and validates experience. It also introduces the field to key leadership markers, including
what it means to be Most Qualified (MQ) or Highly Qualified (HQ) at every rank.
These standards aren’t about perfection. They’re about purpose. They elevate the profession by
providing benchmarks that motivate Soldiers to keep growing, learning, and leading. Whether
through the Army Comptroller Course, Battle Staff, or Training with Industry, the opportunities for
career development are laid out with precision.
          A Profession in Motion
The Finance Corps is not static. It is evolving alongside the Army’s operational needs and
modernization priorities. As CSM Joy L. Allen of USAFMCOM notes, “Our enlisted finance and
comptroller Soldiers make up the most capable, talented, and educated force our Finance Corps
has ever known in its 250-year history.”
This growth is visible in every page of the Enlisted Guide. From disbursing agents managing cash
flow in deployed environments, to strategic planners managing resource allocations at Corps
level, the guide reflects a robust and dynamic career field.
          Celebrating Every Contribution
Every transaction tells a story. Every audit trail reinforces accountability. Every training milestone
strengthens readiness. The Enlisted Guide helps ensure no contribution goes unnoticed. It
documents not only what 36Bs do, but who they are—leaders, advisors, managers, and
          innovators.
