Gentex and SAAM also hosted us for two rounds of golf, both of which were spectacular!! One of

the rounds came to be the core purposes of the invite: to share with and honor the FoF at the
American Dunes Golf Course. This sacred course was a remarkable and moving experience.
Designed by Jack Nicklaus, American Dunes was established to honor those who lost their lives in
service to our nation. You enter the course through a memorial dedicated to military service. During
the golf, all play stops, regardless of where you are on the course, and everyone faces a large
American flag during the playing of taps at 1300 hrs each day. (For more about American Dunes

The month of July brought together 12 FoF players, for what many felt was a once-in-a-lifetime bucket
list golf trip. For this third 2024 Finance Group outing, the 12 journeyed to Monterey, California from
5-10 July to play the Pebble Beach Golf Links, the Spyglass Hill Golf Course, the Links at Spanish
Bay; and for some the opportunity to play the two former Fort Ord Courses - Bayonet and Black
Horse.
