STATUTE 1

ORGANIZATION AND PROCEDURES OF THE WBU COUNCIL

PREAMABLE

THE WBU:
RECOGNIZING that, the Council, at its first meeting on 9 December B.E. 2543 (2000), by
the virtue of Article IV of the WBU Charter, established its guidelines on the organization
and procedures for performing its functions effectively;

COMMITTING to the aforesaid guidelines;
DO HEREBY ADOPT the Statute 1 on “Organization and Procedures of the Council”
whose details are as follows:

SECTION 1

COUNCIL SECRETARIAT

1. The WBU Centre, with the Rector as the Chief Executive Officer, shall be the Council
Secretariat.
2. The WBU Centre shall be responsible for:

A. Convening and organizing the Council meetings,
B. Maintaining minutes and records of Council meetings,
C. Preparing agenda and supporting documents, in consultation with the
Chairman of the Council,
D. Executing decisions of the council, and
E. Establishing and maintaining regular contact with Council members.

SECTION 2
MEETINGS OF THE COUNCIL

1. The Council shall meet annually in the month of December.

2. The Rector shall convene regular meetings of the Council.
3. The Council may convene a special meeting at the request of not less than five Council
Members in a written petition or petitions on any matter to the Chairman of the Council.
4. The Chairman of the Council shall decide the date and agenda of any meeting.
