Ash Grove:
A Cement Business
with Strong Foundations
and An Even Stronger Future
Over the past two years, CRH plc has been working towards integrating its growing North American cement organization. The cement business has grown exponentially in recent years following a series of acquisitions, including of Ash Grove Cement Company and Suwannee in 2018. Following these acquisitions, CRH became one of the largest cement producers in North America.
Our Joliette and Mississauga cement plants as well as our cement terminals in Canada and the Great Lakes region comprise the North region of the broader CRH North American cement platform. The division as a whole
proudly operates 12 cement plants and 42 terminals across the U.S. and Canada, providing industry-leading products and services to serve the needs of our customers.
A key part of this integration and a major milestone in the process was reached this past fall, with the official rebranding of the entire North American cement business under one strong, unified brand: Ash Grove, A CRH Company. As
a result, the Company now includes three strong and distinct customer-facing brands: Demix in Quebec and Atlantic Canada, Dufferin in Ontario and Ash Grove in Canada and the U.S.
Stronger together
Bringing the cement business under one strong brand is part of CRH plc’s broader global brand strategy and can bring many benefits to the business. It distinguishes you from your competitors, it can create preference in the market for your products and services, and it can build employee pride.
Ultimately, a strong brand can increase the value of a company. It also brings more practical benefits such as eliminating confusion and demonstrating clearly that everyone is on the same team, focused on the same end-goals.
