All about V
All about Volcanoes
YEAR 4 ELEPHANT
The Year 4 students had an exciting
and engaging time showcasing how
volcanoes erupt from within the
Earth’s structure.
They learned that volcanoes erupt
when a big crack develops in the
Earth’s crust, allowing magma
from the mantle to travel through
the cracks and shoot out onto the
surface. Once it reaches the surface,
this magma is called lava.
From carefully measuring the right
amount of baking soda to pouring
vinegar into the crater, the learn-
ers watched in amazement as their
model volcanoes came to life—bub-
bling and overflowing just like the
real thing!
It was a hands-on experiment that
brought science to life and proved
that learning can indeed be a fun
adventure!
