PRE-PLAYGROUP & PLAYGROUP

The children went on a walk around the school to explore and identify different sounds in their envi-
ronment as part of our phonics lesson. They listened attentively and were able to recognize a variety of
sounds such as the ringing of a bell, cars beeping, horns honking, the hum of a generator, children
laughing and singing, doors opening, birds chirping, and water running.

This engaging activity helped to strengthen the children’s listening and attention skills—key foundations
for early phonics learning. It also encouraged them to distinguish between different sounds, thereby
enhancing their auditory discrimination, memory, and overall sound awareness.
