By the end of the day,

THE REGENT COLLEGE I left feeling more ou know that feeling of entering a new

habitat and you are able to adapt,

myself in a hall filled with students from differ-
leadership abilities ent schools. I wasn’t the only one from Regent,

and eager to apply a percentage of our year group was there.

what I had learned in At the Leadership Bootcamp, we were grouped

into 14 camps, mixed with students from oth-
future roles. er schools. We were briefed on the activities

and skills we would learn. Our first task was to
turn our names into acronyms representing

our leadership qualities. I created “Never Go
On with Zero Impact” for my camp and ex-

plained what I believed a leader should do.

Next, we built a mast, aiming to make it the
strongest and tallest, which helped build team-
work and critical thinking. Our final challenge
was to design a boat to escape an island in 20
minutes, selecting 11 people to save out of 18.

I received an Outstanding Leadership award
for creativity. My experience was great, and
I learned valuable lessons while socialising
with new people.
