PHONICS club
The children in Phonics Club took another exciting step in their literacy journey as they
engaged in various fun, hands-on activities designed to deepen their understanding of letter
sounds and early reading skills. The focus was on sentence formation, expanding vocabulary,
and exploring letters. Each child had the
opportunity to practice letter writing,
improving their fine motor skills while
reinforcing the connection between letter
sounds and their written form.
The children used flashcards to practice
blending sounds together to form simple
words. They worked in pairs, carefully
sounding out the letters on each card and
blending them to read words. The children
were thrilled to read short sentences . With
support and encouragement, they combined
their phonics knowledge to sound out each
word, building confidence as young readers.
Some children even began to recognize
familiar words, reading aloud with excitement
and pride.
Through repetition and exploration, the activity
supported their literacy development by
combining phonics skills with creative language
use, making the learning process both effective
and engaging.
