n Sunday, 9th February, the inter-hostel

debate competition took place. It was
Oan exhilarating event with jaw-drop-
ping debates from all the hostels. The rounds
were thrilling, with intense rebuttals filling the
hall as students sat in anticipation, eager to
see who would win.

I was a bit nervous about my debate, but I
managed to overcome it and did my best.
Luckily, my co-speaker and I emerged victo-
rious, qualifying our hostel for the KS3 finals.
The rebuttals truly tested my quick thinking
and persuasion skills.

My favourite debate was on whether home-
work or exams are necessary for learning,

which was the KS3 finals debate. My hostel
managed to win, and in the end, El-Kanemi
emerged victorious, taking home the trophy.

I can’t wait for the competition next year!
