TALES FROM THE HALLS
SILENT
TEACHERS
By Toyin Akomolede (Mrs)
Teacher of English Language and Literature
To Kill a Mockingbird opened up my eyes,
Of Mice and Men revealed where sorrow lies.
The Art of War lit fire in my fight,
While Educated pulled me toward the light.
From Sapiens, I traced where we began,
Things Fall Apart unmasked the heart of man.
The Power of Now taught presence, not the race—
And The Road held hope in desolate space.
The Book of Joy sang softly to my soul,
The Prophet etched life’s truths in verses whole.
The Four Agreements anchored peace within,
While Atomic Habits built the strength to win.
No chalk nor board could ever quite relay
What these quiet guides still teach me every day.
