CULTURAL DIVERSITY
Year 2 Immersion
Year 2 Immersion
In Year 2, the students have been on an exciting journey, exploring the rich cultural diversity of Nigeria
as part of their Nigeria Studies curriculum. Throughout the week, the children dived into various as-
pects of Nigerian culture, learning about traditional foods, attires, religions, and greetings from differ-
ent regions.
Year 2 students put on a grand cultural pres-
entation during the whole-school assembly on
Friday, showcasing what they’ve learned colour-
fully and engagingly. Each class represented key
regions of Nigeria, bringing the country’s diver-
sity to life through their vibrant performances:
- The Whales Class proudly represented the
Northern Region (Hausa), presenting their
traditional northern attire, food like Tuwon
Shinkafa and suya, and demonstrating warm
greetings and religious practices.
- The Dolphin Class brought the Eastern Region
(Igbo) to the stage, highlighting the beauty of Igbo
traditional clothing and foods like Ofe Nsala and
Abacha and showcasing respectful greetings and
cultural heritage.
- The Orca Class represented the Southern Region
(Yoruba), shining in their depiction of Yoruba at-
tire and tasty dishes like amala and Gbegiri, with
lively greetings and religious practices unique to the
South.
The assembly was a wonderful celebration of
Nigerian unity in diversity, and the students’ pres-
entations were both educational and entertaining,
leaving the audience beaming with pride.
We are proud of our Year 2 students for their
hard work, creativity, and teamwork in bringing
the beauty of Nigeria’s culture to life. It was an
unforgettable experience!
