The Nursery group had a lot of fun exploring the Nursery Rhyme “Humpty Dumpty.” The
rhyme teaches an essential lesson about the significance of being careful and not clumsy. It is
about an egg that falls off a wall, and despite the king’s horses and men trying to fix it, it re-
mains broken.
To engage the children, we boiled some eggs, had them draw faces on them with markers, and
acted out the rhyme with the eggs as characters. Later, the children peeled off the eggshells and
enjoyed making collages with them while munching on their Humpty Dumpty. This hands-on
activity reinforced the idea that, like Humpty Dumpty, being careful is crucial, and it also helped
them understand that some things cannot be fixed once broken.
