Tension, Drama, & That

                         Sweet Feeling Of Triumph

                                               - By Hamza Mohammed Bambado | Year 11 Senegal

ome moments stay with you forever, and this was definite-
ly one of them. My second-ever football competition was
Sone I’ll never forget. It had everything: tension, drama, and
that sweet feeling of triumph at the end. As captain, I felt the
responsibility not just for myself but for my entire team. I wanted

nothing more than to bring home another winners’ medal, and I
was ready to give it everything.

We are the best football team in Abuja, and we showed it. Every
single one of us gave our all, fighting through every challenge
together. The final was the culmination of months of hard work,
passion, and the determination to prove we deserved the title.

But the most unforgettable part of the day? The penalty

shootout. For the second year in a row, I was the one to step up
and take the deciding penalty. The pressure was massive. The
crowd was holding its breath, the stakes couldn’t have been
higher, but I stayed calm. Pressure doesn’t rattle me; it drives
              me.

I placed the ball, took a deep breath, and struck it clean, right

down the middle. The ball hit the back of the net, and just like
HAMZA BAMBADO that, we were champions! The crowd erupted, and my team

              rushed in to celebrate.

SCHOOL TEAM CAPTAIN Most importantly, all glory goes to God. Without Him, none of
              this would have been possible.
