Day 2024 Day

Remembrance Day is observed on November 11th to commemorate the end of
hostilities in the First World War. These hostilities ceased “at the 11th hour of the 11th

day of the 11th month” in 1918, following the armistice signed by representatives
of Germany and the Entente between 5:12 and 5:20 in the morning.

At 11:00 a.m. on November 11th, The Regent School joined the rest of the world in
honouring Remembrance Day by observing a minute of silence to reflect on the
sacrifices made by individuals during wartime. Throughout the day, teachers led
discussions about the history of Remembrance Day, emphasising the importance

of reflecting on the past and nurturing a sense of gratitude and responsibility for
the future.
