MORE THAN JUST ANOTHER FOOTBALL MATCH

n what has become a fierce rivalry, we the students
pulled off an impressive 4-2 win over the staff in a

Ifootball match that had the whole school buzzing.
This victory not only boosted our morale but also lev-
elled the aggregate score at 6-6, setting the stage for
     an epic decider.

The buildup to the match was intense. We knew this
game meant more than just another football match; it
was a chance to prove ourselves after losing the previ-
ous game 4-2. We spent weeks preparing, focusing on

exploiting gaps in their defence while tightening up our
own. Our captain, Hamza, emphasized teamwork, and
when the whistle blew, we were ready.

The game started fast, with both sides testing each
other early on. Soon, we found our rhythm. I’ll never for-
get the roar from the sidelines as we scored our first

goal—it was a turning point. Our confidence grew as we
pressed high, forcing the staff into mistakes and capi-
talizing on every opportunity. Although the staff fought
back with two well-placed goals, our defence remained
composed, and we responded with effective counter-
     attacks.

Key players stepped up at critical moments, from bril-
liant saves by our goalkeeper, Chuka, to stunning runs

by Hamza that left the staff scrambling. Each of our four
goals felt like a statement that we could hold our own.

By the final whistle, we were exhausted but elated. This
win felt like a victory for the entire student body. With
the aggregate score tied at 6-6, we’re already gearing
up for the decider. For now, we’re savouring this win and
                                                                              IMAM SULEIMAN
