his year’s Sports Day was an exhilarat-
ing experience that I will cherish forev-
Ter. I proudly finished first in the 400 me-
ters and also led my fantastic team, alongside
Somto, Tochi, and Abdullahi, to victory in the
4x100 meters relay. Our strategy was sim-
ple but effective: a strong start and seam- Imam Suleiman Kwari (Year 11 Benue) reflects on his experience during the 2025 Sports Day
less handovers. We communicated perfectly,
which allowed us to maintain our momentum
and clinch the top spot.
The rush of adrenaline was indescribable as
I approached the finish line in both individual
and relay events. The tension before each race
was palpable, leaving me feeling a little un-
easy, but I thrived on the energy of the crowd
and my teammates’ support. Each race was
an invitation to push my limits, and I success-
fully secured second place in the 200 meters,
which felt like another victory in its own right.
Having participated in field events as well, this
was my third Sports Day, and each experience
has brought me closer to my teammates and
boosted my skills. At the end of the day, our
house secured second place overall, but I be-
lieve our dedication and the hard work we all
put into the march past truly made us winners
in our hearts.
Overall, Sports Day was not just about medals;
it was a celebration of teamwork, spirit, and
the joy of competing.
