Efeoghene Harold-Gbinije (Year 10 Benue) reflects
on his experience during the 2025 Sports Day
n February 1st, 2025, we had our annual
Sports Day, and it was the best one yet! The
Oevent started at 9:00 AM with a rendition of
our national anthem, followed by the March Past,
where all houses performed brilliantly.
The Shuttle Relay was next, with 40 boys and 40
girls. Then came athletics, from 100m to 200m,
400m, 4 x 100m relay & mixed relay. It was a closely
contested race of adrenaline, energy, endurance,
and speed.
One of the most exciting events was the tug of war,
where Benue triumphed over Volta in the finals. The
parents’ and teachers’ races were also a highlight,
but the “ALL STARS RACE” stole the show! Students
claimed the top three positions.
March Past was won by Benue, Shuttle Relay by
Senegal, and Tug of War by Benue. Congratulations
to Volta for winning Sports Day!
